The modern trend in the recording of geographical phenomena requires a coherent and widely accessible description of them in the form of spatial information infrastructures. The analysis of the chapter reveals the wide application of spatial information infrastructures in the current period of time due to the INSPIRE Directive and the Greek legislative framework for the development of the National Spatial Information Infrastructure. The chapter focuses on the analysis of the capabilities of the European Spatial Data Infrastructure, as described through the technical specifications of the European INSPIRE Directive.
