Description:
Abstract:
A description of macroscopic and physical characteristics, properties and uses of a number of tropical hardwoods (37 species) with commercial value is given, separately for each species. These species are imported from various countries of N. hemisphere in order to produce wood products of high added value after physical, mechanical and chemical processing. For all tropical woods, colored photos of longitudinal sections (radial, tangential) are included showing the variation of wood figure. At last, tables present the physical, mechanical and main uses of wood, separately for each tropical wood species.
