Description:
Abstract:
Real Losses usually constitute a large part of Non-Revenue Water, and addressing them is important for the water supply company. This chapter presents the four pillars for tackling real water losses, namely active leak detection, pressure management, the speed and quality of repairs, and the management of pipelines and water supply network equipment (asset management). Specific proposed measures are presented to reduce real losses according to their causes. Finally, the basic principles for dividing water supply networks into sealed subzones are outlined for better network management and water loss control.
