Description:
Abstract:
This chapter contains: - a detailed description of the units of physical quantities, systems of units, scientific notation, and most common unit prefixes. - a detailed description of the most common errors involved in the measurement process, how they are calculated and how to deal with them. A reference to the basic quantities (mean and deviation from the mean, standard deviation, absolute and relative error) and examples are given. It also shows how to compare values of physical quantities, how to errors are propagated in calculations and how to indicate the important points of the measurement results. - a detailed description and examples of how to create graphs (linear and non-linear relationships/change of variables), and how to extract from them values for the measured physical quantities (slope/intercept).
