Abstract:
The electronic engine management systems have received extensive scientific study as well as technological application. In recent years, motors are controlled by microcontrollers, sensors and actuators. They offer fuel economy and are environmentally friendly. First, a brief reference is made to the fuel consumption and emissions of diesel engines. Electronic throttle control with independent single-cylinder fuel injection pumps is introduced. Also featured are the common rail fuel injection system and the electro-hydraulic injection system for heavy-duty engines. Finally, emission control technologies such as the exhaust gas recirculation system and catalytic converters are presented.
