| Abstract: |
The combination of agricultural engineering, electronics, sensor technology and informatics creates a new interdisciplinary subject, that of Agricultural Mechatronics, which deals with the design, manufacture and programming of multipurpose machines and robots in agriculture. In this chapter, there is a brief review of the path of integration of automation and mechatronic devices in agricultural machinery, from the end of the 80s until today.
