Abstract:
This chapter presents the technological developments in the navigation and automatic guidance systems of agricultural vehicles. Efforts to implement such systems have been made for the last thirty years. During this time, many different systems were proposed, but none of them was an affordable solution. The fusion of the GPS system and the machine vision in a single system, it appears that in the future it will provide the most technically perfect solution. Navigation and automatic guidance systems are expected to help operators in their laborious work, improve productivity and achieve greater precision in performing various farming tasks.
