Description:
Abstract:
The most important models of queueing networks are considered, including open and closed Jackson networks, the properties of global and local balance, the BCMP theorem, and general networks with product-form solutions. The basic operational laws, operational analysis and the principles of operation of the mean value analysis (MVA) method are developed. The convolution algorithm and the exact formulation of the MVA algorithm for single class and multiple classes of customers, as well as for fixed service rates and variable (load-dependent) service rates, are derived. The above are applied to the study of computer systems by modeling their individual components (component-level performance models). Web-based system models are developed, both from the user-side (client-side models) and from the server-side (server-side models).
