Description:
Abstract:
This chapter discusses panel models and their importance in empirical research. Using an empirical application, we present the estimates of the pooled regression, the fixed effects model using dummy variables, the within-group fixed effect estimator and the random effects model. We then present the Hausman test for selecting the most appropriate model between fixed and random effects. At the end of the chapter, we provide some information on the properties of the estimators.
