Description:
Abstract:
This chapter deals with the study of electrophilic aliphatic substitution reactions [mechanisms SE1, SE2 (frontside and backside), and SEi] and the parameters that influence their course and outcome (effects of substituents on the substrate, the ability to remove the leaving group, and the solvent). Some of the most significant reactions that proceed via these types of substitutions are also presented.
