Description:
Abstract:
The business environment in which Greek SMEs are called upon to operate is characterised by instability and rapid changes and poses a series of challenges. Small and, mainly, micro-enterprises, with less than 9 employees, have dominated the country's productive base and are characterised by low economic performance. On the contrary, medium-sized enterprises are showing signs of dynamism and growth. However, the study of SMEs should not be limited to economic performance indicators. Their contribution is multifaceted and has significant positive effects on many aspects of the social and political life of the country.
