Abstract: |
A growing number of scholars are examining the dynamics of the Silver Economy which studies the contribution of older people to the economic growth. Seniors remain in the labour market longer and are involved in the production process in many ways, in the developed world: as employees, as freelancers, or as entrepreneurs. Their contribution to entrepreneurship is not limited to the management of an existing business or the creation of a new business by older people, but extends to other equally, or more important, support services they provide to existing businesses as mentors or financiers. Boosting senior entrepreneurship with targeted policy measures will unlock an important potential of society that now remains untapped.
