Laboratory Exercise: Designing a distributed smart hospital system with AVR
Authors: Dasygenis, Minas

Description:
Abstract:
In this project, a hospital application will be studied. Each bed (IoT node) is equipped with sensors attached to the patient, with data being sent to the Gateway. The Gateway processes the data and either sends a response back to the IoT node for some automatic function to be performed or forwards the data to the nurses' and doctors' room. The data is displayed on a screen (Interface) so that the hospital staff can study it and take the necessary actions. Each IoT device located at each bed will be a combination of an ESP8266 with an easyAVR board, the program of which will be written by each team. The team number will be the bed number. With suitable modifications in software and hardware, another board could easily be used in place of the easyAVR.
