The concept of CSR is presented, at the international and national level, the most accepted definitions that have been formulated, their similarities and their differences. The historical development was described of the phenomenon, from the sponsorships of Ancient Greece until today, the basic aspects of CSR and the difficulties of its development in Greece, in a period of economic crisis.
