Description:
Abstract:
This chapter describes the mechanisms of emission, transport, and deposition of naturally originating aerosols in the atmosphere, such as the desert dust. Special emphasis is given to the geography of dust-producing regions and their distribution on a global scale. The role of these aerosols in forming the global climate system and contributing to climate change is also examined.
