Description:
Abstract:
In this particular chapter, the characteristics of the solar and the earth’s radiation are presented. The spectrum of solar radiation is analyzed, and concepts of diffusion and reflection are introduced. Fundamental laws regarding the black body absorption and emission of radiation are also discussed. Additionally, the model of planetary radiation propagation is presented, and the energy balance between the atmosphere and the Earth's surface is estimated. An energy balance application is also included at the end of this chapter.
