Abstract: |
This chapter deals with the classification, use, and future developments of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Fundamental concepts and principles from aerodynamics are mentioned. UAVs with rotating propellers and fixed wings are presented, while their main structural elements are described. Finally, the two main fields of application of UAVs in agriculture are analyzed: remote crop monitoring and performing agricultural tasks.
