Description:
Abstract:
This chapter presents a group of agricultural robots designed for effective weed control. These are ground-based robotic vehicles that navigate autonomously and perform targeted spraying of herbicides or destroy weeds by mechanical means. Four key technologies required for successful weed control are described, such as automatic guidance, weed detection and identification, mapping and precise weed control. The use of robots automates weed control, reduces crop exposure to herbicides, and helps reduce the risk of developing weed resistance.
