This essay examines the UN Regional Seminar and International Exhibition on Low-Cost Housing and Community Planning that took place in 1954 in New Delhi and the proposal for the village to become a model for development in the Global South. The conversations that took place in New Delhi produced networks of expertise that informed the post-World War II discussion on planning and the built environment that the UN promoted through its organs. |
