Description:
Abstract:
This chapter introduces the student in Rangeland Ecology. The plant communities is the most important differentiator structural component of rangelands, over other natural ecosystems. The knowledge of the most important physiological functions contributes to the understanding of adaptation of rangeland plants to extreme environments or not. Upon completion of this chapter, students will understand the physiological and morphological bases of differentiation based of rangeland plants (link with the previous Session). This will enable them to better understand the ecological differentiation of the major groups of plants in rangelands (link to the next Session).
