Abstract:
This chapter offers a theoretical background about the creative arts therapies, specific activities, and guidelines for therapists. A pilot study on the influence of creative arts therapies on a group of adolescents shows evidence of positive results. Also, theory and clinical excerpts illustrate the therapeutic use of mandalas and the Mandala Assessment Research Instrument (MARI), designed by the art therapist Joan Kellogg.
