Abstract:
This chapter briefly discusses various topics related to polymers and the environment. First, the potentially dangerous compounds that may be present in polymeric materials are analyzed. Information is then given about microplastics, their composition and their effects on the environment. Continuing, single-use plastics are analyzed. Finally, polymer recycling is given briefly, with emphasis on the most modern methods of their chemical recycling.
