Abstract: |
The primary goal of this textbook is to provide the Greek audience, particularly the university students, with an introductory overview of the Hittite language and script. We hope it will serve as a foundation for further exploration via more specialized and in-depth resources, enhancing their understanding of the topic. Part A briefly outlines the history of the Hittites, as well as the key characteristics of their language and writing system. This section also covers nouns, adjectives, pronouns, non-inflectional parts of speech, verbs, and non-finite verb forms. Part B offers short excerpts from select texts, enabling readers to extend their studies and immerse themselves further in this subject.
