Abstract: |
The marine environment is a very special environment, as it interacts with the land, sea and atmosphere. Each of these contributes to the functioning of the marine environment, making its study very interesting and difficult. The study of the marine environment is highly interdisciplinary, integrating geology, physical and human geography, oceanography, climatology, engineering and so on. The main theme of this chapter is the geology of marine sedimentary environments (shallow and deep) and the geological processes that shape them.
