Optical properties of water
Authors: Mavraeidopoulos, Athanasios
Reviewer: Palikaris, Athanasios
Description:
Abstract:
In the 2nd chapter, the basic optical properties of water, are described, as they are categorized based on their content of organic, inorganic substances and other materials. The concentration of water in these substances and materials has the effect of determining the color of water (ocean color), which is directly related to its optical properties. Afterwards, are referred the most important findings of researchers who have developed methodologies and techniques for the extraction of water depth (sea areas, lakes, etc.), studying the color of water, using satellite images from passive sensors, correlating the optical water with the depth of each area.
