Description:
Abstract:
The “WebQuest” instructional technique refers to targeted and meaningful guided inquiry, by searching, synthesizing information and creating new one, in order to understand a topic. The main characteristic of WebQuest, as its name suggests, is the use of the world wide web as the main source of information. WebQuest is a typical example of an instructional technique, which is essentially based on digital technology and was developed due to the special characteristics (affordances) of digital technology. In this chapter, the technique of WebQuest is developed with an example on “Internet Safety” and is accompanied by empirical data, which results from the implementation of WebQuest with University students.
