Authors: Azariadis-Topaloglou, Filippos

Description:
Abstract:
The concepts of coordinate system and point in plane/space in Cartesian and homogeneous coordinates are described. Then, the concept of transformation is described and the most basic geometric transformations in the plane and space, such as translation, rotation, scaling, and reflection are analyzed. The concept of composition of transformations and special cases of 2D and 3D transformations are introduced, such as rotation and scaling about an arbitrary point, reflection about an arbitrary line in the plane, rotation about an arbitrary axis, and symmetry about an arbitrary plane.
