Description:
Abstract:
Trauma is the leading cause of death in people under the age of 50. The definition and evaluation of the patient with multiple traumas have evolved significantly in the last decades, while their accurate and team management contribute significantly to reducing morbidity, mortality and ensure rapid recovery by reducing costs for the health system. The arrival of the patient to the organized trauma center should activate a multispecialty mechanism of action based on the basic principles of management of multiple trauma, described by well-documented protocols. Of primary importance in this process is securing the patient's airway, breathing, circulation, and stabilization of the patient's general condition, which are carried out in the emergency department or operating room. Finally, the definite functional optimization of the body systems and the early recovery period of the patient takes place in the Intensive Care Unit.
