Abstract:
This section presents information regarding the body structure (external morphology and anatomy, digestive, excretory, and reproductive systems) of nematodes (Nematoda). Emphasis is primarily placed on plant-parasitic species, for which the most agriculturally significant genera are introduced, along with details on their biology, behavior, and the symptoms caused in host plants due to their feeding activity. A sampling method for the detection of plant-parasitic species is also presented. A substantial number of active hyperlinks, images, diagrams, and bibliographic references are included to facilitate a better understanding of the subject. This section also contains a series of self-assessment questions for the student.
