Description:
Abstract:
The aim of the electronic textbook entitled “The practice of Translation” is to present to the reader and especially to the students the practice of translation and all the details concerning the stages of the translational action, from the moment the translation of a source-text is commissioned to the moment of final checking and delivery of the target-text. Although ‘practice-oriented’ in the sense that it presents, analyses, and comments on translating this online textbook documents and explains the description of the stages of the translational action concerning theoretical models or, better still, theoretical approaches, seeking to demonstrate that translating is an intentional, conscious process which requires that the translator is aware of what (s)he is doing, how and why (s)he e is doing it each time (s)he engages in mediating between two languages and cultures.
