Abstract:
In this chapter special reference is made to reading comprehension as a process of constructing a mental representation. The levels of reading comprehension are presented, as well as their relation to the comprehension of a written text. Special reference is made to the models of reading comprehension as well as to the factors that contribute to the development of reading comprehension. Finally, didactic approaches and didactic applications are suggested so as to develop reading comprehension skills.
