Abstract:
This chapter focuses on the analysis of economic practices that have developed in relation to the internet. In particular, it focuses on the concepts of exchange and sharing, through the presentation of a series of ethnographic cases related to various forms of technosociality, such as peer-to-peer networks, the economies of online role-playing games, the digital currency Bitcoin, etc. In addition, this chapter analyzes issues that relate to the idea of intellectual property and related licenses (copyright, creative commons), focusing on the views of the users. Lastly, this chapter considers the concept of free digital labor and creationist capitalism in the context of the knowledge, cultural and creative industries.
