Abstract:
In this chapter, special issues concerning the research in the cognitive object of dental technology are examined. Reference is also made to the individual stages of the research process and how in these the procedure differs in the case of dental technology. The research method is discussed during the study of the mechanical properties of dental materials (materials of construction of prosthetic works) using geometric-symmetrical specimens. In the same chapter the method of analyzing the mechanical behavior of dental prosthetic restorations (non-geometric specimens) with the use of special methods for this purpose, such as photoelasticity, strain gauges, brittle coatings, and finite element analysis.
