Abstract: |
The textbook is an introduction to law, legal science, and constitutional institutions, with a particular focus on the basic principles of the constitutional organization of the state and the protection of fundamental rights. In this context, the textbook mainly covers: a. introductory issues concerning the science of law, the distinction between public and private law, types of legal rules, interpretation of law, and the structure of legal reasoning; b. the system of sources of Greek law (the Constitution, international law, European Union law, written law, legislative acts, presidential decrees, ministerial decisions, parliamentary regulations, collective labor agreements), c. the constitutional organization of the state and, in particular, the institutional role and powers of state bodies (electorate, Parliament, President of the Republic, Government, independent authorities, courts) and d. the system for the protection of fundamental rights, as enshrined in the Constitution in force 1975/86/01/08.
