Description:
Abstract:
Thirteenth chapter is an introduction to infrared spectroscopy and its application in clinical chemistry and diagnostics in general. Infrared spectroscopy is used in the clinical laboratory for the qualitative analysis of uroliths for the direct or indirect diagnosis of disease states. The method principle is described and emphasis is placed on the widely used Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The instrumentation and the spectral evaluation for the qualitative analysis of uroliths are described.
