Description:
Abstract:
Fifth chapter introduce the most commonly used electrophoresis methods in clinical chemistry and diagnostics in general. Electrophoresis techniques are used in the clinical laboratory for the separation of macromolecules such as proteins, lipoproteins, enzymes and their isoenzymes, etc. and to calculate the individual fractions for the purpose of direct or indirect diagnosis of relative diseases. Several basic electrophoresis techniques are described in detail, including modern techniques such as capillary electrophoresis. Finally, the usefulness of these techniques in clinical chemistry and diagnostics is highlighted.
