Particle kinetics and acceleration
Authors: Flytzanis, Nikolaos
Reviewer: Christakis, Nikolaos
Description:
Abstract:
The concept of a field simplifies the description, but the fundamental laws are based on the concept of a system. Thus, the acceleration of a "particle" must be calculated from the velocity field. The solution is the material derivative. Continuity equation and incompressible fluid. Separation of acceleration due to vorticity. Vorticity and particle rotation. Irrotational flow. Stream function. Acceleration in a non-inertial system.
