Abstract: |
In this chapter, we examine the peculiarities of prose genres such as the novel and the short story, as well as children's and young adult literature, in relation to the author's personality and the era. We examine stylistic parameters related to rhythm, phrasing, and figures of speech, as well as the terminology that is often used. Emphasis is placed on the reproduction of sociolects and idiolects, and the study takes an intercultural approach, comparing the levels of discourse in the two languages and their function. The specificity of children's literature is examined, with examples of texts aimed at different age groups. Finally, the essay is examined as a specific literary genre.
