Description:
Abstract:
Statistical mechanics is based on the probability theory in order for the frequency of appearance of microscopic states to be calculated. The definition of probability is presented for discrete random variables, as well as for continuous variables expressed as probability density. In addition, the moments of a distribution are introduced together with the variance and the correlation of different random variables. The probability of complex events through the laws or probability theory is reduced to that of simple events.
