Abstract: |
The book begins with an introduction to Latin love elegy that traces its origins in ancient Greek and Hellenistic poetry as well as in the Roman Neoteric poets and particularly Catullus.
Its main body contains a translation and a commentary on selected elegies from Propertius, Tibullus, and Ovid. All poems are supplemented by a basic vocabulary attached to each line through hyperlinks. At the end of the book, there is an addendum with grammar exercises.
