Abstract: |
This chapter focuses on the analysis processes that take place before the writing or development of a multimedia application begins—that is, from the initial idea to the formulation of a more structured technical proposal at the onset of the design phase. Analysis is one of the most critical stages in the multimedia production chain, during which all development issues are laid out. It often results in revisions or shifts to the original concept. Within this context, the chapter presents various methodological approaches used for analyzing: the target audience and potential user profiles, the proposed forms of content and interaction, distribution channels and the computing resources of access/navigation terminals, and the available editing and development tools. Additionally, the chapter provides an initial introduction to project timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
