Abstract:
In this section the role of the host and carbohydrates in caries etiology will be described. Local and general host factors related to the carious process will be analyzed. It will be described how the structure, anatomy and position of the tooth in the barrier are related to caries. Also, the general factors of the person related to dental caries will be described and analyzed such as their attitude and interest in oral hygiene, their socio-economic level, their general state of health. Finally, the relationship of the carious process with diet and carbohydrate intake will be analyzed.
