Title Details:
Analysis of optical satellite images
Authors: Parcharidis, Isaak
Reviewer: Nikolakopoulos, Konstantinos
Description:
Abstract:
This chapter covers issues related to the processing and interpretation of satellite images from optical sensing systems. Specifically, the content includes: image preprocessing (atmospheric and geometric corrections); image enhancement (monospectral images, color composite images, multitemporal color images, density slicing, histogram enhancement, arithmetic operations between images, application of filters); Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Kauth transformation, and data fusion. It also addresses interpretation and final products, including supervised and unsupervised classification, visual interpretation of satellite images, and digital image interpretation using computer-assisted methods.
