Description:
Abstract:
The textbook deals with general elements of the pathophysiology and immunology of the pig digestive system, and in particular with diseases and pathological conditions, in the aetiology of which bacteria, viruses, parasites and various management factors (e.g. feeding errors, animal handling, living conditions, environmental factors, etc.) are involved. In particular, reference is made to the aetiopathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment, and prophylaxis - prevention. More specifically, prophylaxis and post-pharmacology of diseases focuses mainly on the choice of appropriate pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical substances (e.g. antimicrobial drugs, alternatives to antibiotics, etc.), the way they are administered, and the implementation of the necessary vaccination programmes.
