Abstract: |
It is widely accepted that water is a valuable resource, yet it is in limited supply. For this reason, the rational management of water supply networks is considered essential, as these networks represent a potential water resource, while — at the same time — water losses within the networks are significant. This chapter presents the current state of water supply network management. It also outlines the problems these networks face and the causes behind them. Finally, an introduction is provided to the methods used for their management.
