Abstract: |
Recent art critical practices raise new questions around the framework of the art system. Individual or collective creators with new methods and tactics pose questions and adopt alternative approaches, regarding the potential active roles in social space, related to the uses of art and the creative process into real life, as well as, regarding the ways of distribution of the artwork. The book investigates dialogical practices in arts as well as the theoretical principles and concepts on which these practices are structured. Dialogic practices involve broader fields in art that maintain horizontal non-hierarchical articulation, polyglot, open source, introducing newer tactics and technologies (tactical media) in combination with older practices (like activism, performance, hacking, bricolage). The term dialogical arts, more generally, surrounds the popular and widespread term interactive arts (about technologies in new media and hybrid arts), expanding at the same time the fields and the related tactics, practices and politics in arts.
