Abstract:
This section seeks to provide an in-depth overview of the subjects addressed in this book. It brings together several elements that could not be contained within a single chapter because of the structure of the book. As a result, important studies like the Tuskegee Study, clinical trials on medication, and the effects of “nocebo” and “placebo” will all be included in this part of the book. Not only is the textbook meant to make bioethics easier for students to understand, but it also briefly touches on environmental ethics, the ethics of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) emphasizing our moral obligations to present and future generations. Although there is much debate in our society about Machine Ethics and the connection of ethics with Artificial Intelligence (AI), the subject is not without controversy. Rather than drawing the discussion to an end, the final words in this section set the stage for more research. Seeing the connections between the topics in this section and the rest of the book is essential to understanding its content.
