Abstract: |
The purpose of this manual is to familiarize young doctors, both undergraduate and graduate, with modern methods of imaging the female internal reproductive organs, with basic knowledge of the radiological anatomy of the female pelvic organs, the most common gynecological diseases, as well as the diagnostic approach and algorithms for managing patients with pathological findings in imaging. As the role of imaging, especially in recent years with the rapid improvement of technological equipment, is steadily increasing in clinical practice, it has become necessary to use a common language of communication between clinicians and radiologists. This manual makes specific reference to the terminology used to interpret radiological images, with the aim of familiarizing young doctors, from undergraduate level onwards, with radiological reports in order to avoid any misinterpretations. Emphasis is placed on self-assessment questions at the end of each chapter, as well as in the last chapter (selected cases of gynecological diseases), where each student is asked to answer a series of interactive questions about common pathological and non-pathological conditions of the female pelvis. The aim is that, by reading the book, new students will have internalized, at the end of each chapter, an essential message that will be useful to them in their daily clinical practice.
