Description:
Abstract:
Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas (NHL) are a group of lymphoid tissue neoplasms characterized by significant enlargement of the lymph nodes and the spleen, a variety of clinical symptoms and, in most instances, a relatively good response to therapy. NHL are extremely heterogeneous and are classified on the basis of their morphology, the origin of the neoplastic lymphoid cells, the number and site of the enlarged nodes and the underlying molecular abnormalities. Therapy comprises a variety of cytostatics, which are usually administered in combination with monoclonal antibodies, and complemented by radiation therapy and/or autologous stem cell transplantation following the appropriate megatherapy.
