The aim of this textbook is to introduce students to the structure and operation of modern hospitals, as well as to familiarize them with the building infrastructure and biomedical technology of its various departments and how these support the achievement of their objectives. Another objective of the book is to provide an understanding of the organizational, administrative, and financial approach to the provision of health services and the role of medical informatics in supporting medical and operational decision-making in the complex hospital system. In addition, the aim of the book is to assimilate the most widespread technical solutions, clinical applications and characteristic aspects relating to the functionality, safety and quality management of the methods, devices, and materials used in modern hospitals.
